Green Croatian Future with EU funds
Green cohesion policy and sustainable development of Croatia was the main theme of conference last Friday at Hotel International. The EU funds are the public money and because of that they must be used for the public projects which can give us public good. The City of Zagreb makes green project for building reconstruction. The price of the reconstruction is 200 mil. € and savings will be around 15 mil. € for year. This project will open 250 – 500 working places. More working places Croatia can get through circular economy. This type of economy is sustainable and European Union support it through EU funds. That is the best offer for Croats, because they have big potential for making recycling industry. How to spend money on green projects we can see on Hungarian project “Morahalom geothermal cascade system“. That project use local resources (geothermal water) for heating and hot water used in public institutions. They also invested in public lighting with LED lamps which are powered by solar panels. The second good practice project is Fly Croatia – Croatian programme of aeronautic tourism. 25 airports in Croatia are old and abandoned, so the plan is to reconstruct buildings and make them profitable. Big potential for tourism is behind 300.000 peoples with flightlicences in Europe and insufficient aeronautic academies. Maximal price of project is 25 mil. € but refund comes in two and half year.
