Gredelj and NRE successfully cooperate and built locomotives for the Ivory Coast and Israel
Gredelj and NRE have started shipping the first out of four GT26CU freight locos for Ivory Coast and therefore made a good basis for continuation of locomotive production for that country.
Also, both companies shipped first two out six locos GT26CW made for Israel.

Locomotives are made for hauling heavy freight trains on non-electrified lines.
“This project is a continuation of the several years long cooperation with the National Railway Equipment Company (NRE), from USA, a for them many modernised and newly produced locomotives were manufactured and delivered and today they run all over the world. Our goal is to satisfy the customers wishes and to be competitive on as many markets as possible. Ivory Coast and Israel are the next destinations for the locos that we made with our partners and we hope to penetrate new markets soon.

So far, all together we have produced 78 locos and 36 of them were made after the bankruptcy was announced. The locos were made by our experts in our plants which is a great success and it proves our competence and qualities in making and modernising the railway vehicles on very demanding foreign markets. It makes me very happy that every project we make proves our competativnes and that our American partner is still willing to prolong our cooperation.†– said Pero Hrkać, manager of Gredelj.
